Hailing from a small town outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, The CMDWN is an R&B/Rock band consisting of members Chris Gibbons, Andrue Hale, River Wilde and Clayton Blue. The CMDWN continue to establish themselves as one of the most highly anticipated emerging acts of the scene. Since early 2015 they have been reinventing and revolutionizing the modern Rock genre by adding an influence of sounds from the Indie, Hip-Hop and R&B world. What started out as a dream soon became a reality for The CMDWN. The band debuted their musical career on YouTube with a viral cover of “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift, a video that reached over 1,000,000 views and gained recognition by viewers across the world. Later that year their first single, “This High”, was released through LoudWire, one of the top Rock music blogs. This led to The CMDWN playing their first show in front of thousands on the main stage of LoudWire Music Festival in Grand Junction, Colorado alongside Linkin Park, Weezer, A Day To Remember and Rob Zombie. Soon after, The CMDWN traveled to Los Angeles, CA to work on their second single with producer Caleb Schultz. Their main goal was introducing Hip-Hop and mainstream Rap into their new sound, with the use of heavy 808’s, hook driven leads and R&B influenced vocal melodies. The band left California with their second single “For the Last Time” and on September 14, 2015 “For the Last Time” was released and premiered through PureVolume, accompanied by a creative visual video. Following “This High” and “For the Last Time”, The CMDWN went on a six month creative hiatus to further develop their vision and sound, during which time they wrote and self-produced a catalogue of songs. The vibes on this collection combine R&B sounds similar to The Weeknd and Banks, as well as rock acts such as The Neighbourhood and Bring Me The Horizon. This compilation of songs is set to be released in August of 2016 as their first E.P. titled, “Doubt”. “We all came together with the goal of creating music for people to make memories to. We want to write the best songs we can, but we also want people to feel something when they listen to our music.” said Clayton Blue, guitarist in The CMDWN. As The CMDWN strive to carve their own notch with an exciting and fresh fusion of genres, they continue to prove that it’s only a matter of time until the rock scene is consumed by The CMDWN.
